My 1st semester is already coming to an end?

"I saw Mallory blogging about cool things, so then I blog about col things"

I figured I should write a little about my semester here at BYU-I before I forget it all!
I love this school so much! I'm glad I made the decision to come to school here after all.
I've learned so much about myself, the Gospel, and of course I'm becoming more book smart.. ;)

First I want to talk about my Amazing roommates. At first I had a hard time getting along with a couple of them at first because they were so different from my last roommates and our personalities were way different. But thankfully we learned to love each other.
I've learned so much from these girls from serving one another to learning to dress cute.
I'm glad I had the chance to room with these girls, as cheesy as this is going to sound...
My roommates were a blessing to have.

These arent all my Roommates
But here we have
Natasha (me) Sunny, Julia. and we're missing
Brittaney, and Jaycie

CROSS COUNTRY
I love my Cross Country Team!
They have seriously have been so fun to get to know this semester, and I'm sad that as soon as we FINALLY started getting close as a team the semester is coming to an end. Not that I'm not glad that the semester is almost over, I just wish I could take those group of people to Texas with me. :)
I'm so glad I joined cross country, I never had the chance to do it in high school so i figured why not just join in college!?
 Best decision ever!

There is so much more I need to finish blogging about BUT I must go to science now...
Woo hoo..  -_-

"The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache.”

First off, I'm in Texas... Whaa??
Yes. And its a pretty funny story too.

November 18th I went to the Marine Ball with my best friend Cody Ronk, in Palms Springs California. It was a pretty... lets just say it was an interesting weekend...

At the ceremony they showed us videos of Marines, and what they stand for, it was such an awesome experience being able to be at the Marine ball, seeing all of these men and women dressed in their uniform representing the Marines.
I'm so proud of Cody and Giovanni (my brother) for being in the Military, and all of the men and women serving our country.

This is Cody and me :)
Sunday rolled around and I was leaving for Utah... I was a complete wreck that day, I could not stop bawling my eyes out at the airport, everyone was probably thinking something horrible had happen to me. HA nope. Pretty much my brother left for basic training for the army that day and I only got to say good bye through the phone.
(But its all good now, I get to see him for Christmas)
and two I was extremely homesick!

I had found out that I probably couldn't go home for Christmas this year because I couldn't afford to pay six hundred and something dollars to just go home for MAYBE 4 days.

Once finally calmed down, I went to the little gift shop they had their and got a snack before I needed to board the plane.

As I was walking back I read the screen that said Arizona on time and Salt Lake on time, I asked this man what flight he was in line for and he said Arizona... I thought perfect my flight is next, I'll just sit down eat my food and wait till Salt Lake starts lining up...After 10 minutes of me day dreaming I guess... I looked around me and everyone was GONE... -_-
Turns out that Arizona and Salt Lake were on the same flight together, and I missed my flight... I literally watched my plane board and leave without me and I had NO IDEA!

First I thought this would happen to me!!
I honestly could not help but laugh at myself! My situation made me think of this quote Mallory shared with me a while back by Sister Hinkely... it says...

"The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache.” Marjorie Pay Hinckley

I Immediately texed Mallory and Cody and told them what happened...

Cody's Response: You're ridiculous...
Mallory's Response: You amaze me...

My two best friends know me so well, and they know only this kind of stuff happens to me... ALL THE TIME! haha
But they love me either way...right guys? ;)

So I went out back to the checking area and asked what I could do since I missed my flight... she told me she would just put me on the next flight available... the only problem was the next available flight was full and there was no guarantee I would be on it, and the next one after that wasn't till Monday morning!

While still sitting there I had this very strong impression that I needed to go home to Texas... That there was a reason I missed the flight, and there was a reason why the flight to Texas was only $215, compared to Utah's flights that were over $400!

I called my mom gave her the idea, of course she was all for it...

My poor mother, her emotions were one big roller coaster that day. One child left for basic training for 5 months, the other came home after being gone for about 5 months.

Long story short I'm home, not my apartment in Utah home, but home! Home in Texas!

I've realized so much being here in Texas, I realized that I have become the biggest baby ever since I've moved out on my own. It's ridiculous to think back and remember all of the stupid things I cried or got upset about. I think the best thing to do is what Sister. Hinkley teaches us, to laugh it off.

My Weekend

My senior year a bunch of my friends and I would camp out almost every weekend, it was so much fun just being able to be out of the city for a while. The best part was the bonfire. I mean you cant go out camping without a bonfire! Right?
Even though I loved being outdoors with my firends, it kinda got old after a while when everyone drank and smoked and I didn't. I mean they never asked me to drink since they all knew I was Mormon, but the jokes they told aren't as funny when you're actually sober. I gave them the pitty laugh all the time, it was either I didnt understand the joke or understand what they were saying in general!! haha

So just this past Friday I was invited to go out to the canyon for a bonfire!!
I was so excited! It's been FOREVER since I went to a bonfire!
I had so much fun! It was nice to be able to hangout with people who weren't drinking, smoking, and cussing up a storm. I'm so lucky to be able to be in an enviorment with people that have the same standards as me. Cheesy I know...but very true.

Saturday was one eventful day!
Saturday Morning I woke up at 6:30 in the morning to go for a 8 mile run at the Provo Canyon with my friend Jacee..This lady is seriously a beast! She is probably one of my top 5 role models in life! Love ya Jacee!
This was actually my first time ever running 8 miles, I usually just run 6 so this was pretty exciting for me!! Woo!
After the run I had to go to work... pretty boring.
But after that my friend Tyler took me to the Tim Mcgraw Concert with Luke Bryan!!
Love that kid! He is such a great friend! :)
I seriously was about to die when I saw Luke Bryan!! Especially when he sang "Back When" with Tim Mcgraw...This man can sure dance!! ;) OHHHH MAN!!

Here are a couple pictures from the concert...I really need to invest in a camera...

Bad picture of Tim McGraw....Like I said I REALLY need a camera

I almost forgot to mention this, but when I got back from the bonfire on Friday I found the entire apartment completely clean! I have the best roommate ever! Thanks Mallory!

Sunday!
Well the reason for her cleaning the entire apartment is because she got all these cute decorations for our apartment, so Sunday evening we spent our time decorating!

We're not done but this is what we've got so far!

Those wine glasses were decorated by Mallory! She's so crafty!
You can't really see it here, but they're cut up paper, and it has rocks and marbles!

10 Random Fact

I haven't blogged in a while, Mallory said as a blogger I need to have a post about random facts about me... so here we go

  1. I Love stale graham crackers with peanut butter, M&M's & raisins....together...
  2. I Love loud people [Shout out to my Black friends ;) ] my mom is the loud one in our family and I'm seeing more and more of her personality come out of me.
  3. I hate "constructive" criticism, I think it's cause I hate to be wrong (even though I'm wrong most of the time)
  4. I like to think I'm a tough girl... but I'm not. Movies like Click, yes Click with Adam Sandler, make me cry so hard! One time I was watching it on the plane...SHOOT it was so hard trying to hold back the tears so my mom's best friend's 14 year old son wouldn't make fun of me... ( I ended up crying anyway AND got made fun of)
  5. I'm a goal maker...which means I make TONS of goals, and I probably follow through with about 2 of them... I really need to work on that!
  6. My favorite colors are yellow and white!
  7. I love being OUT! I probably get that from my mom too, but I hate being inside. Every now and then I enjoy a good movie night at a friends house, but I just love being out and about! Makes me feel productive I guess.
  8. I'll admit I'm either a Facebook addict or a Facebook whore... But my mom is too... I must have inherited that from her too.... ;)
  9. Mallory and I use to stick my sister in the closet and make her pretend that was her personal office because she was the "BOSS."
  10. I have a bad habit of going shopping and buying all these new cute clothes and NEVER wearing them...I tend to just wear my stupid v-neck t-shirts that all look the same.

Fishing Trip

I've probably had this blog set up for about a year and a half now and I'm FINALLY decided to do my first blog post! YAY! I just figured that this is just an easier way for my mother and old young women leaders stalk me...you're welcome. And what better way to start off my blog than to talk about my fishing trip...mishap...

So last weekend Mallory, Jay-red, Adam, and I all decided to take a nice little fishing trip to Spanish Oaks reservoir! I was way excited, the last time we went fishing we didn't catch any fish, and it was SNOWING!! Ohhh Utah how I hate your crazy weather! But we were determined to catch some fish this time, and since it's a reservoir its guaranteed that you'll catch a fish...

Well when we got there it was super windy, and cold...of course, thank you Utah. But that wasn't gonna stop us from fishing! We thankfully we found a nice spot right in front of the sun, which made it a little warm!

So to explain my wet pants...No I didn't Pee myself, but I almost did when I slipped into the lake...yes. I slipped into the lake trying to be a hero... So when we were sitting waiting for a fish to bite, the wind picked up and it took our plastic bags, and the bags were headed straight for the lake!! I ran full speed down the slope where the lake was, and got the bags just right before the bags and I hit the water! SCORE! Except I didn't have a good grip on the bags that one of them slipped out of my hands, I tried to be quick to catch that one bag, but I slipped right into the water...then I let go of all the bags...Fail!! All that for nothing!! Lets just add that to the

"Ohh of course you did Diana" list! ;)

Here is Jay-Red's fish. He was the first one to catch one!

ADAM'S FIRST FISH!! His mother will be so proud to know he was the second one to get a catch

Then Mallory, Hers was the biggest one...
There was a picture...but of course Mallory deleted it...But it pretty much looked like this..
Old man included.... ;)

And this is my catch... Mom be proud! I was at a lake where they put fish into the lake ( also note that this "lake" wasn't big at all) and didn't catch ANYTHING!! I mean I did make it pretty obvious to the fish that I was there since I pretty much swam with them! haha
